Group Working Skills
There are increasingly more people considering that group work is quite significant. Group work may be defined as a mode of cooperative learning, it aims to develop students' knowledge, cater for individual differences, generic skills and attitudes. Whether students are studying or employees are working, group work is able to demonstrate their comprehensive skills. Nonetheless, other people state that group work enables them too dependent on others, and gradually were losing the ability to think by themselves; whereas my conviction is that group work allows students to learn team working skills.Furthermore, it helps students training their sense of responsibility. In this essay, I will analyses how our group performs, regarding roles and cohesiveness. Regarding roles, which can be defined as people have a common goal when they work together, it also occurs in students groups. Each individual group member will have a particular position and function in it. Roles consist of group task roles, group maintenance roles and self-seeking roles. Group task roles are related to accomplish tasks and to achieve goals of the group. In my academic career I have taken part in several groups. Actually, I now play the part of evaluator. For instance, my group ember gives me some advice; I decide which ideas are good or bad. This is important because I will receive a good deal of ideas from my partner; it provides our group with the opportunity have a choice process. This helps our group to achieve are student group need to beware of pursuing the task at the expense of maintaining relationships. â⬠This meaner, group maintenance roles are linked to interpersonal relationships. In my group I play the role of harmonies, my responsibility is conflict- resolving. Group unity is very important for the team work and members. If our group does not have unity, the group cannot do anything. For example, if the group members have conflict with others, they may not be successful when wo rking together. An understanding of unity can help us to deal with many questions with members to achieve common purpose. Whether in the large or small group, the unity is the most important factor.Regarding self-seeking roles, Payne E and Whittaker L (2000) state that ââ¬Å"Self-seeking roles are more likely to be an indicator of an individual student's personality'. This is to say, self-seeking roles reflect personality. I play the role of aggressor, in my group; I will criticism my partner and argue with reasonable mints put forward by others. I do so because not only it enables my partner to improve themselves but it also allows our team to progress. Finally, in my point of view, high cohesiveness is the most concepts in group work.As the proverb goes, solidarity meaner strength; solidarity meaner victory. ââ¬Å"Cohesiveness is a measure of the attraction of the group to its members, the sense of team spirit, and the willingness of its members to coordinate their effortsâ⬠(2011 Oxford Brooked University) So, when member working at university or company, they should share more particular information and individual skills, good cohesiveness should built a tuneful relationships. Sometimes, high cohesiveness enables group members to increase trust and confidence. These benefit of building a good communication; it allows my group members to enhance their friendship. In my group, part of members' hard working and have a high efficiency to finish the work, they will help other members to provide more good ideas to finish the work. Conclusion In summary, this essay has discussed that the group working skills are helpful for students or employees to achieve the tasks. In my view group task roles, group maintenance roles and self-seeking roles are the most important in group work.

Population Control and Earths Sustainability Research Paper
Population Control and Earths Sustainability - Research Paper Example No matter the increase in population, the earth cannot exceed its ââ¬Ëcarrying capacityââ¬â¢. Proponents of population control argue that if the current trend of increase in worldââ¬â¢s population continues without any action taken to control, it will lead to overpopulation that would exceed the earthââ¬â¢s capacity (Navarro 1). However, the big question raised here is what is the carrying earthââ¬â¢s capacity and is it possible to measure this capacity? This is because one needs to know the exact carrying capacity of the earth for them to say that it would be exceeded with the bulging human population. The truth is there is no conclusive evidence showing the carrying capacity of the earth and indicating that if the worldââ¬â¢s population exceeds a certain level, the earth will not be able to sustain it. In fact, the earth can comfortably sustain the human population as it still has enough resources to achieve this. However, to achieve this requires proper maintenan ce of these resources to avoid wastage. In addition, the earth still has vast land and resources to cater for the population. For example, Tanzania in East Africa has a population of about California and Virginiaââ¬â¢s population combined, but with a land larger than Virginia, Arizona, Michigan, and California combined (Navarro 2). This is just an example of several countries with vast land enough to sustain their populations, and the populations beyond. Increase in population does not automatically lead to a reduction in earthââ¬â¢s resources for the population causing famine and starvation.

Write a reading response based on the this article Essay
Write a reading response based on the this article - Essay Example At one point in the article, Honan talks about how he is going to go out of town and is debating about allowing his location to be tracked during this time period as it would make public that his wife would ultimately be alone for five days. His wife states at one point, ââ¬Å"Youre not going to announce to everyone that youre leaving town without me, are you? A lot of weirdos follow you online."(Honan). I couldnââ¬â¢t help but agree with his wifeââ¬â¢s consensus. Although there might not be that many weirdos running around out there with the intent to hurt others, it is still scary to think that someone could easily find out where you are and that you had basically handed out this information voluntarily. In reading this article, I was impressed to see all of the capabilities of technology with apps such as iWant, GasBag, and Wikime, but I also feel like there is an overload of it right now. A lot of these apps just donââ¬â¢t seem necessary and could end up causing more trouble than they are worth. By the end of the piece, Matthew Honan seems to agree with this somewhat when he nearly gets in a car crash because he was placing too much of his attention on his smart-phone and not enough attention on the road(Honan). I concluded from the article that with apps, the phrase ââ¬Å"too much of a good thingâ⬠definitely applies. Honan , Matthew. "I Am Here: One Mans Experiment With the Location-Aware Lifestyle ." Ethical Dilemmas Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words
Ethical Dilemmas - Essay Example At such junctures, there are times when overlooking the important details or critical details seems to be favored than doing oneââ¬â¢s own due diligence. This ethical dilemma usually occurs between having to submit some degree of research by the given deadline. Of course, this leads to the outcome that a research itself is half-baked or lack of useful content for it. Of course, this was done so that the paper can reach the acceptable deadline. Having to do any further research beyond the set or acceptable deadline may prove to be very problematic itself. To overcome such a dilemma, it would be wise to do ahead with the necessary preparations for researching and plan or schedule the steps for the research to be taken. Being organized with a proper working schedule helps prevent any researcher from being placed into the dilemma between giving an unsatisfactory research work or having the paper not being accepted due to tardiness. No matter how simple a research work can be, always be prepared ahead of time. Another ethical dilemma one faces in doing research work is by making the research too personal in nature that it is merely biased. Biased research occurs when a researcher has personal preferences regarding an issue within the subject matter and will focus on supporting that point solely. There is no problem in having a personal stake in doing oneââ¬â¢s research since it allows an individual to share personal insights and opinions regarding the issue at hand. In fact, having a personal voice and perspective in a research paper is what will add a level of interest and unique color in its ideas. However, focusing solely on one issue while neglecting other points in the research would lead to an insufficient result and conclusion. Being biased not only shows lack of understanding for research, it also shows a lack of academic acumen. To deal with this, a researcher must make a mindset to be as objective as possible. Research requires taking data and

Managerial Accounting - Assignment Example The company also was awarded with wine award and a gold medal in the wine competition at Sydney in 2011and with medal of gold at an Award function in New Zealand in 2010. With respect to 2010 the EBITDA of the company grew from $29.6 million to $57.1 million in 2011. This resulted in their earnings per share of the company rising from 0.20 cents to 32.6 cents. The rise in the net assets of the company by 10% over the year is a commendable achievement for the company under the ever changing market conditions. Planning Control and Decision making process Management accounting is related to the system of accounting information used by the managers within an organisation. The management accounting provides the managers with the basis of information essential in the decision making of the company so that the resources of the company can be better utilised and functions are in control. At present management accounting has a dual reporting relation in the corporation. The management account ants are the strategic partner responsible in providing decision related to the operational and financial information. Thus it is the responsibility of the managerial accountants in managing the business team along with submission of report in relation to the corporationââ¬â¢s finance. The management accountant portrays planning and forecasting, monitoring and reviewing cost inherent to the business and performance variance analysis of the company. However the three main areas of a management accountant that helps in the planning and decision making of managers are strategic management, performance management and risk management (Bamber, Braun & Harrison, 2009, pp.4-7). Delegatââ¬â¢s Group has adopted the strategy of identifying the ââ¬Å"value growth marketsâ⬠and ââ¬Å"growth marketsâ⬠which has proved to be a success in the favour of the company. The strategy thus adopted by the company has resulted in delivering improvement in the profitability of the company. The performance management of the company can well be depicted from the financial performance of the company. A stable growth rate of 10% of operating net profit after tax has been observed from 2007 to 2011 except in 2008 which are due to the global economic downturn. The major improvement in the performance of the company was due to biological assets contribution, net harvest provision and the derivative instruments of the company implemented to hedge the companyââ¬â¢s interest rates and foreign currency exposures. Lastly the risk performance of the company is diverted by the use of the options and forward currency contracts. This helps in the economic hedging of the risks associated with the interest rate swaps and foreign currency fluctuations. Thus the management accounting helps in the detection of the variances of the company through which the managers of the company can plan out the strategies of the company; based on which further decisions are taken. Skills of a Managem ent Accountant Skills that are required for a management accountant to efficiently carry out the process of accounting are to have a sound knowledge of both managerial as well as the financial accounting. The management account should have an analytical skill along with the knowledge of how the business of the company is functioning. Good oral and written communication skill is a must for the

Two high school teachers Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words
Two high school teachers - Essay Example gh school teachers is the same that is guiding and educating the students; despite of this, their way of teaching, giving instructions and their relationship with the students is very different. Both the teachers are excellent at their job but their methodologies of teaching differ from each other. My Maths teacher places greater emphasis on class work and ensures that all students complete the work taught in class there and then. She does not burden the students with homework. Instead, her stress is more on regularly testing the students and she conducts class tests every week. This is a method used by her to make sure that the students study at home and practice for the tests. She does not overburden the students by giving them too much of homework and conducting tests at the same time. On the other hand, my English teacher tries to spend greater time in class to explain and teach the students and answer their queries. He does not provide much work in class. But he ensures that the students are given regular homework. He does not conduct regular class tests but rather he takes monthly tests. He follows this pattern so that the students gain the maximum in class and revise the subject while doing the homework. Both the teachers try that their students gain the maximal knowledge, but their instructional goals are different; such as the studentââ¬â¢s grade, what they would like their students to learn, and what a successful future is for the students. It is the goal of every teacher to make their students learn new things and to enhance their knowledge but their approaches vary. My English teacher focuses on helping the students improve in their weak points rather than only focusing on their strengths. He wants us to improve ourselves not just in a particular sector but to be all-rounders. According to him, our successful future depends on not just being book-worms or getting high grades but also being intellectual and smart. He expects us to have clear concepts
